Birth of the AISGC: A New International Association Dedicated to Syndics and Condominium Managers
The condominium industry has reached an important milestone with the official creation of the International Association of Syndics and Condominium Managers (AISGC), announced on May 19, 2026.
This new organization’s mission is to bring together condominium professionals at the international level in order to promote, enhance, and advance the profession of syndic—a term used particularly in Europe—and condominium manager, a designation more commonly used in Quebec.
Through this initiative, the AISGC aims to foster collaboration among industry stakeholders, encourage knowledge sharing, and contribute to the continuous improvement of management practices for condominium buildings.
International Collaboration to Advance the Condominium Sector
The AISGC intends to become a forum for exchange, reflection, and collaboration among professionals from different countries. In particular, it seeks to promote the sharing of best practices, the exchange of expertise, and comparative analysis of legislation applicable to condominiums.
The association also plans to organize international conferences and publish work on major issues affecting the sector, including the energy transition, digitalization, and legal matters specific to condominiums.
Governance Made Up of Recognized Experts
The founding board of the AISGC brings together representatives from several countries active in the condominium sector.
France is represented by the ANGC, with Gilles Frémont serving as President of the AISGC. Quebec is represented by the Regroupement des gestionnaires et copropriétaires du Québec, with Me Yves Joli-Cœur serving as Vice-President of the AISGC.
Portugal, Morocco, and Belgium also complete this international governance structure.
Promoting an Essential Profession
In some countries, the profession of syndic or condominium manager is already well structured and regulated, while in others it is still developing. The AISGC aims to help strengthen the recognition, credibility, and appeal of this essential profession, which plays a key role in the sound administration of condominium buildings.
As Gilles Frémont stated:
“Beyond borders, our goal is to restore the prestige of an essential profession that is deeply committed to its mission.”
The creation of the AISGC therefore marks a significant step forward for international cooperation in the condominium sector and opens the door to new exchanges among professionals, associations, and organizations in the field.
